All About Me
I am a Southern California Girl to the heart! I love the sunny weather and the beaches and wearing flip flops most of the time. I love to create--to make things with my hands. I use to be a busy worker bee with no time for anything. Fast, fast, fast was my life. I was given the awesome opportunity to be a stay at home wife (and hopefully soon to be mother). I didn't know what to do with myself so I starting cooking a lot, baking is my favorite (that's why you see a lot of baked goods), I started crafting again, and I started learning how to make things. I decided to start this blog to share with you--All the wonderful ways to be creative! Angela is my name and making things homemade is what I love to do!
1. I didn’t used to be a cry baby, but motherhood has changed me. Last week, I started tearing up when one of the young adult guys told me about how he was going home for his last summer with his parents before graduating college as images of David and Hudson as college students flashed through my mind.
2. I drink coffee- a lot. But you already knew that. What you didn’t know is that I almost always drink it hot, never cold. My uncle Randy told me that he turns up the air conditioning in his truck during the summer so that he can get cold enough to drink his coffee hot. I tend to agree with him.
3. I love spontaneity. If things stay the same for too long, I start to go crazy. I prefer a little bit of a wild feel rather than too much uniformity in life.
4. My childhood in the mountains has played a big part in making me who I am. Whenever I get stressed or overwhelmed, I imagine myself deep in the forest, sitting beside a creek and talking to God. It immediately makes me feel settled.
5. I don’t really like water. Well, I like looking at it. I don’t like being in it. Not only is it cold, but it is crazy stuff. I am much happier dipping my feet in the edges.
6. I like to wait up for my husband at nights, no matter how late he comes in. On the other hand, we often keep each other up talking and I regret my decision to wait up the next morning when my children wake me up early. But then again, I am so happy to be deeply in love with my husband and want to share everything in life with him…even if it means staying up till the wee hours of the morning. It is just sleep Jamie that regrets staying up.
7. While I am passionate about preaching and teaching and praying, I don’t really like to be in front of people in any other capacity. I refuse to let Danny throw me a birthday party every year because I hate being the center of attention. Although, I am happy to report that I am becoming better at not being so easily embarrassed about things.
8. I know that you think I cook, but I don’t really. My family rotates between three meals on a regular basis- chicken, sandwiches and cereal. I love my husband for being relatively okay with that!
9. I have lots of favorite desserts, but frozen yogurt with chocolate chips and berries is at the top right now. Heaven!
10. I truly love getting to know people and discovering their uniqueness. It is a dream come true to be doing what we are doing in ministry and being able to help young people become everything that God has called them to be. When I stop and think about the young people of the NXT, I start tearing up again.
Okay, so I told you all there is to know about me. ;) Now it is your turn, tell me something about yourself that I didn’t know. Come on, you know that you want to.
